Gold Plated is the process of depositing a thin layer of gold on top of a based metal. While Gold vermeil is still the process of depositing a layer of gold on a based metal, but in this case the based metal is always 925 sterling silver, and the layer is much more thicker. Gold plated jewelry usually has a thickness of about 0.2-1 microns, and Gold Vermeil is 2.5 microns or more.
A Moissanite is a gemstone that was found in a meteorite in 1983 by a French scientist named Henri Moissan. The stone is a naturally occurring silicon carbide, it is a very rare mineral, and in modern day times they are usually lab created. Mosissanites do have a very similar look to a diamond, but they are two different stones.
When comparing hardness on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, a moissanite scores a 9.25 while a diamond scores a 10. In regards to color, moissanites are deemed to be colorless and have a unique shine to them that reflect light beautifully.
Moissanites tend to an affordable option for most, typically having a lower cost than a diamond. They are also ethically scoured as they lab created and not mined.
Moissanites are wonderful choice for all occasions, from everyday wear to special events.
